Miroslav Tvaroh, 34, has been named as the missing man.

It is thought he arrived at Castlepoint, about 40km east of Masterton, yesterday afternoon and parked a blue Mazda Premacy station wagon in an area near the Church on Jetty Rd.

Police and volunteers are conducting a land and sea search in the area today to try and locate him.

Tvaroh is of slim athletic build, has a slight beard, is 6-foot (1.8m) tall, and thought to be wearing a brown polar fleece and grey corduroy trousers.
