Snap up a jumbo jet
Forget unwanted Christmas presents - a Boeing 747 jumbo jet is the latest item to hit Trade Me.
The front air frame and passenger cabin of the former Qantas plane is up for grabs for a cool $130,000.
Advertised on the auction site, suggestions for its use include a crew-training simulator, evacuation trainer, film prop or static display.
Seller Aaron Tilly said the plane and other pieces of airline equipment were used in his business International Airline Training.
He said the plane had previously been used as a cabin-trainer for flight crews, but he had seen old planes put to even more creative uses.
"I recently worked on a project where a lady in California built a house out of one," he said.
"I've also seen someone turn a plane into a backpackers overseas.
"I thought, everyone decides to put their Christmas presents on Trade Me, so I might as well give it a go with this."
If the auction is successful, the plane will be dismantled before being shipped from its present location in Australia.
Since the listing went up last Sunday the plane has had more than 41,000 views.
