Mum 'confused' by son's disappearance
The mother of a Christchurch man missing for five days says his disappearance is "very out of character".
Christchurch police released a statement last night stating they were concerned for the welfare of Michael Ashley Snow, 28.
Pania Mokomoko said her son was last seen on Sunday when he left her Christchurch home.
"He walked out with just the clothes on his back. He was in good spirits."
Snow missed a pre-arranged visit with his two-year-old daughter on Wednesday and had not seen his six-month-old child since December 29.
Mokomoko said she was "confused" by Snow's disappearance, as it was "just not like him" to go without contacting friends or family for so long.
Snow is described as being part Maori, about 170 centimetres (5.6 feet) tall and of medium build.
He also has tribal tattoos on the right side of his neck.
Anyone with any information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the Christchurch Police Communications Centre on 03 363 7400 or Detective Sergeant Chris Power on 03 363 4888.
