A nine-year-old boy who fell into the crater on Auckland's One Tree Hill has been rescued by fire crews.
The boy toppled off a track he was riding around the volcanic crater, near the top of the mountain, just after 3pm.
The fire service was called in to help lift the boy out by stretcher because of the terrain.
"He hasn't fallen a huge distance, just landed awkwardly," Onehunga senior station officer Chris Power says.
The boy was taken to hospital with a suspected neck injury.
He was conscious when he was loaded into an ambulance.
