A Hawke’s Bay farm worker has been flown to hospital after being attacked by a cow.
The 20-year-old suffered serious leg injuries after being knocked off his farm bike by a ‘‘disgruntled cow'', according to Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter pilot Chris Moody.
The helicopter was called to the farm at Norsewood, north of Dannevirke, around 7am.
The local St John Ambulance and Fire Service staff helped at the scene and the man's condition was stabilised before he was flown to hospital.
Later in the morning the helicopter flew back to Dannevirke Show Grounds to airlift a 65-year-old man who suffered a serious medical condition.
