The fire was reported at 10.47pm last night, a fire communications spokeswoman said.
About 20 fire engines and more than 80 firefighters went to the scene on Hannigan Drive, a light industrial part of the suburb of St Johns.
The two-storey warehouse, measuring 40 metres by 40 metres, was engulfed in flames when the Fire Service arrived.
No people were injured or trapped in the building, the spokeswoman said.
It was not yet clear what was contained in the warehouse.
There was no indication as to the cause of the fire, but fire investigators would examine the scene this morning, the spokeswoman said.
