Police have grave fears for an elderly woman with dementia who is missing from a South Auckland care home.
Jean Braithwaite, 83, went missing from the home in Wiri, Manukau about 9pm yesterday.
She suffers from dementia and was described as a female Caucasian with short grey hair, medium build and about 1.5m tall.
At the time she went missing she was wearing dark blue three-quarter pants and white socks, possibly not wearing any shoes and a dark green top.
Police said she would have had a walking frame with her and is very agile and healthy.
Braithwaite was able to talk, but not very well.
Police were concerned she was not dressed for the inclement weather conditions.
