Beach death 'not suspicious'
The body of an elderly woman discovered on a Dunedin beach yesterday has been identified, Dunedin police say.
However, few details have been released, other than that the woman was 83-years-old and from Dunedin.
Police do not consider the circumstances of her death suspicious. The matter has been referred to the coroner.
Police are working on contacting the woman's next of kin.
The woman's body was found by a man walking his dog on St Clair Beach about 6am yesterday.
