Search continues for missing Christchurch man
Police have resumed the search for missing Christchurch man Kurt Millan Green today.
The 30-year-old was last seen near Blaketown beach, in Greymouth, on March 9.
Several of his personal belongings were found on the beach by members of the public and handed in to police, but there been no other signs of Green and he had not been in contact with his family.
Police yesterday said they had no idea what had happened to him, and a ground search of the Blaketown beach area and surrounding coastline had uncovered no clues.
Detective Sergeant Sarah Illingworth said a helicopter crew would complete another sweep of the area north of the Grey River today, checking some of the more difficult terrain.
"This remains a missing person inquiry and we simply do not know what, if anything, has happened to Mr Green."
Police had received a number of calls from members of the public over the last few days in response to publicity about the case, but no firm leads had emerged, Illingworth said.
"We are continuing to appeal for any sightings of him, or for any information about his whereabouts."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Christchurch police on 03 363 7400 or Greymouth police on 03 768 1600.
