A man's body has been found floating near Auckland's inner-city ferry terminal.
It is the second body to be recovered by police today. An elderly woman's body was also found on a beach in Auckland.
A police launch recovered the male's body near Princes Wharf at 11.30am.
Investigations are underway into how the man came to be in the harbour. Police say it appears he had not been in the water for long.
A post-mortem is expected to be carried out tomorrow. Police are not treating the death as suspicious.
The body of a 78-year-old woman was also found at the beach area below cliffs at Torbay on the North Shore.
Police say they know who the person is but formal identification has not yet been carried out. The woman's name has not been released.
Her death has been referred to the coroner.
Police were still working to identify the dead woman.
No further information was immediately available.
