Young woman hit by truck

A young woman has been hit by a truck in northern Otago this morning.

The incident happened on State Highway 85, north of Palmerston, just after 7am, police said.

The woman was flown to Dunedin Hospital by the Otago Rescue Helicopter with a broken arm and leg injuries.

Police said the woman, believed to be in her late teens, was "not too well", but her injuries were not life-threatening.
