Adios Eco-centric!

Last updated 15:27 20/04/2009

Nat and MattThis will be our last blog post for Eco-centric. Thanks for your support, scepticism and inspiration along the way! Thanks heaps to all of our guest bloggers who wrote on topics ranging from vegan babies and the food crises to Happyzine and Greenpeace.

We've covered topics from veggie gardens and food additives to climate change and wind farms. Hopefully we've provided thought-provoking debate as well as tools, ideas and links such as Seven Oaks Education CentreSustainable Accommodation at Goldenbay Hideaway and Organic Explorer.

It will be interesting to see what the year ahead brings on a global and environmental level. We will be focusing on work and family over the next while. We would be happy to hand over the reins as such so if there's a keen blogger out there get in touch with Stuff! Thanks again, Nat & Matt

Alan! Alan! Did you hear this? Where now can climate change be debated? I am sure many world authorities read our comments to make important decisions about climate change! Justice! Where can we now use upper case words in the wrong place? DJ! Will this cause more or less GHG? I can't decide! Just to show I am being a good sport: Where can I now put my long and painful to read diatribes of support for all things eco?

:-P

Ha haa, thanks Cutler-Welsh's, it's been great reading and commenting on your blog.

Thanks for your efforts. I've been an occasional critic, but appreciate the time and thought that has gone into your posts. As some muppet or other once said, 'it's not easy being Green...'.

Especially when hardened cycnics such as my good self demand Data...

Stand easy, Brent. There will be plenty of times and places for debate. And "world authorities" count for nothing unless their science is right and their political solutions are acceptable to Joe Blogs.

To the Cutler-Welshes, best wishes for a wise future and a happy family life. As Wayne (waymad?) has said, it's not easy being green - eco systems are just about the most complex things we know of. Unintended consequences abound.

Yes, there will definately be a huge void left in the lives of some by your departure. Possibly I would even go far enough to suggest blog grief in some cases.

It's obvious you two genuinely want to make a difference and I applaud you for creating some good debate. I do wish you all well for the future. Well, as for handing over the reins, I've been following your blog from the beginning and dealing with the constant, cynical, commenters - I can't imagine you'll be snowed under with applicants.

Good luck though!

On to more informative pastures I think.

As the TV program 'The Goode Life' with its backyard farming couple ended, so has this blog and with as many laughs. May I postulate that family life has brought you into reality?

Sorry you guys have moved on. wonder if there is another forum about people trying to find out information about retro-fitting older homes for energy efficiency.

Sorry to see you both go,

When we consume oil that took thousands of years to form, and cut trees that took thousands of years to grow, its amusing watching the human race look for a five minute fix.
