The dramatically altered landscape of central Christchurch has been captured in a project by the team at press.co.nz.
Video journalist Daniel Tobin downloaded 12 pictures of our central city from Google's street view each showing different CBD sites from before the quakes.
He then carefully lined up key markers, such as sign posts and street lamps, in order to take perfectly matching photos of the same site today.
The photo pairs from each of the 12 sites were then matched and turned into an interactive display by Press online graphic artist John Harford.
Viewers are able to use their mouse to drag a slider across the matching pair to see how starkly the landscapes along Gloucester, Madras and Manchester Streets have changed in the last two years.
