A 22-year-old Dunedin man has been arrested after the armed offenders squad was called to a home in the suburb of Concord at lunch time.

The Stevenson Rd address was cordoned off and residents were told to lock their doors and stay in their homes.

Senior Sergeant Brian Benn, of Dunedin, said the cordon was only a precaution and had now been taken down.
