The husband of a well-known Waikato woman is facing further charges after initially being arrested for breach of protection order in June.

The man, who still has interim name suppression, made a brief appearance in the Hamilton District Court yesterday where he pleaded not guilty to seven new charges of assaulting a female and one charge of assaulting a nine-year-old child.

He had earlier pleaded not guilty to three charges of breaching a protection order. He was remanded on bail to reappear in court next month.
