Police believe they have located the murder weapon in the investigation of the death of Davinder Singh.

Singh, 35, was found dead in his car outside the Manukau Events Centre last Thursday. It was believed he died of stab wounds ,and police had been searching for the weapon until today.

"Detectives investigating the homicide of Davinder Singh believe they have located a weapon of interest to the investigation and are no longer seeking public assistance regarding it," a police statement said. 

A 28-year-old man and 31-year-old woman briefly appeared in the Manukau District Court on Saturday jointly charged with Singh's murder. 

Both names were suppressed and the pair were remanded in custody until a High Court, Auckland, appearance on Wednesday.

Punjabi interpreters were requested for the next appearance.
