The two people accused of murdering Auckland man Davender Singh can now be named and one of the pair is his partner.

Gurjinder Singh, 28, and Amandeep Kaur, 31, the dead man's partner, appeared in the High Court in Auckland today charged with Davender Singh's murder.

Name suppression was not pursued.

Singh's body was found in a car outside the events centre, on Norman Spencer Drive in Papatoetoe on August 7.

 It was believed he died from stab wounds, police said.

Police said at the time his partner and he were eating takeaways in the car and she witnessed events leading up to the killing.

She was hospitalised overnight for her "condition" rather than for injuries, police said.

She and Gurjinder Singh pleaded not guilty and were remanded in custody to a trial on August 3, 2015.
