A man has died after what is believed to have been an altercation with a family member in South Auckland this morning.

Police said they were investigating the death of a 29-year-old man at a Manurewa address.

They the man was involved in an altercation with a family member immediately before he died.

Police were speaking to witnesses and would conduct a scene examination today.

The police investigation would be influenced by the results of a post-mortem examination and no further information would be available until after that had been completed.
