Police are hunting a hit-and-run driver who left a cyclist critically injured north of Auckland yesterday.
Police said that the 62-year-old victim was cycling south along Peak Road, Helensville, yesterday when he was struck by a 1980s style Toyota utility vehicle which failed to stop.
The vehicle was white or cream and had a rear deck with a fibreglass hard cover. It appeared to be old and discoloured.
Police said they would like to speak to the driver or any witnesses to the incident.
