A Porirua service station was robbed at knifepoint at the weekend.
Porirua police said a man walked into the Cannons Creek Mobil, told the attendant he had a knife and demanded money. He had been in the store a few minutes earlier.
The man left with a small amount of cash and some cigarettes, police said.
The man is described as Maori or Polynesian, around 20 years old with dark skin, short black hair and stubble on his face.
He was last seen wearing a bright blue baggy tee shirt with white writing on the front, walking into nearby Berkshire Street.
No-one was injured during the incident, police said.
Police are reviewing CCTV footage of the robbery which occurred around 7.25 on Sunday night.
They have released an image of a man they suspect of robbing the service station.
