The Government is trumpeting new figures showing Customs had its most successful eight weeks on record intercepting the drug methamphetamine, known as P.
Prime Minister John Key said Customs intercepted 230kgs of pseudoepedrine - used in the production of P - at the border over eight weeks in October and November, compared with 67kgs over the same period the year before.
Fifteen people were arrested.
The seizures were proof of National's campaign against P working, Mr Key said.
The plan included the redeployment of up to 40 customs staff from other duties.
