Robber used public bus to make his getaway
A man who carried out a series of bank robberies in Hamilton and Auckland often made his getaway by bus, Hamilton District Court was told.
Niko Apulu, 22, pleaded guilty in Hamilton District Court to five counts of robbery, The Waikato Times reported.
He told police he was unemployed and staged the robberies – which netted him $6000 – to support his pregnant partner.
He was remanded in custody for sentencing in March.
