An armed man has robbed a Hastings dairy of cash and tobacco after threatening the five staff members with a firearm this evening, say police.
No one was hurt in the robbery but the staff of the Lantern Light Dairy, on the corner of Grove and Willowpark Roads, were left shaken, said Detective Constable Sally Patrick of Hastings police.
The man entered the dairy about 6.15pm with the firearm and threatened the staff, making off with an undisclosed amount of cash and tobacco, she said.
Police inquiries were continuing and they wanted to hear from any witnesses.
