Police have arrested a man in Lower Hutt after an armed home invasion.
A block in Waiwhetu was cordoned off on Thursday as the armed offenders squad searched for the man for about three hours from 8pm, Police Central Communications Inspector Mike Coleman said.
It is alleged he entered a Manderson Grove property, threatened the occupants with a gun and stole property.
The man was arrested at a nearby Durham Cres property without incident and locked up at Lower Hutt police station.
