A Bay of Plenty man has been convicted of indecent assault, which is believed to have involved a five-year-old girl.
Hemi Ashby was convicted of two charges of indecent assault and one charge of breaching bail when he appeared before the Tauranga District Court yesterday.
It is understood the 22-year-old indecently assaulted a five-year-old girl in Katikati in 2006.
He would have been about 16 when the incident occurred.
Ashby has been remanded in custody and will appear for sentencing on July 16.
