Kylee Guy says she still cannot understand why her husband was murdered.
The wife of Scott Guy has made her first public statement since her brother-in-law Ewen Macdonald was acquitted of his murder.
"Two years ago, our whole world changed forever, for me and my boys, and will never be the same," she said in a statement published by the Weekend Herald.
Tomorrow marks the two-year anniversary of Scott Guy's death.
"You are only given one life to live. Scotty was everything you could ever dream of - a loving, amazing husband, the best daddy to his boys and a wonderful, caring friend.
"If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died... We love you to the moon and back."
Kylee Guy said she loved her husband as dearly as she did when he was alive and the world she now lived in was "unfair and unbelievable".
The couple's sons Hunter, 4, and Drover, 21 months, had helped her move forward, she said.
"The boys and Scotty are my strength and the reason I get up each day.
"This is not the final chapter.
"We are not going to give up, we will do everything we can so that you can finally rest in peace."
Kylee Guy said in the Weekend Herald that she planned to mark the anniversary of her husband's death with the support of her family.
She said she had been overwhelmed by the messages and support she had received from around the country.
"There are no words to express my overwhelming gratitude and love to you all. You are all truly amazing and we will be forever grateful."
