Two men have been arrested for allegedly robbing two French hitchikers near Mt Maunganui.

The pair, a 26-year-old Ngaruawahia man, and 24-year-old Mt Maunganui man, have been charged with aggravated robbery.

They will appear in Tauranga District Court tomorrow.
