Police have arrested four men involved in fights on the night a Kapiti teenager was found unconscious in a car park.
Izak Millanta, 17, died in Wellington Hospital on Sunday after being found in a Coastlands car park about 3am on Saturday.
A 25-year-old man has been remanded in custody, charged with assaulting him.
Two men were reportedly seen chasing Millanta through an alleyway minutes after a fight near the Retro Bar at Kapiti Lights, Paraparaumu.
Detective Inspector Mike Johnson said this afternoon police were aware of other assaults and fights in the car park area of the Kapiti Lights complex the same night as the incident involving Millanta.
Four men aged 19 to 26 had been arrested and charged with assault, fighting in a public place and injuring with intent to injure.
The arrests were unrelated to Millanta's death.
One of the men will appear in Porirua District Court on Tuesday and the remaining three were dealt with by pre charge warnings.
A large team continued to investigate Millanta's death, Johnson said.
Senior Sergeant Alasdair Macmillan said it appeared some people had chosen not to tell police about the incidents despite knowing about them.
"Our focus is on prevention and I urge anyone to report incidents or potential incidents to Police and we will deal with them on a case by case basis."
