A 29-year-old man has pleaded guilty to the murder of a woman at a Burwood house on July 11.
The Kaiapoi farmhand entered his guilty plea in a Christchurch District Court sitting before Judge Tony Couch this morning.
The man has been in custody and has had a psychiatric report completed in the weeks after the arrest.
His name and the name of the woman he murdered have been suppressed since his arrest - at the request of police - and Judge Couch continued those orders today.
The orders will continue until a decision is made about them at his sentencing in the High Court which is set for November 22.
