A motorist has been arrested after a high-speed chase involving eight police cars in Christchurch.
A police spokesman said the driver had been stopped and taken into custody.
The person was allegedly involved in a petrol station drive-off in Woodend and a number of "driving incidents", he said.
The police said the driver was caught on Guthries Rd, in Belfast, after a 10 minute pursuit.
It was understood eight police cars, police dog squads and an ambulance had been involved in the chase.
A Press reader reported seeing multiple police cars and a police motorcycle driving with their sirens activated through Redwood.
