The body of a young man has been discovered in the Dunedin Botanic Garden.

Dunedin police say a person came across the body of the European male, believed to be in his 20s, in the garden off Opoho Rd about 8.45am. 

Senior Sergeant Dave Scott said the death did not appear to be suspicious.

The body had no obvious injuries.

Investigations continue.
