A Hamilton woman who bit another woman's breast and hit her with a stiletto was sentenced in court today.

Samantha Lee Knapp, 23, faced charges of assault, assault with a weapon (stiletto) and driving while disqualified.

The Hamilton District Court heard Knapp, and her partner, were drinking with the victim at her home on June 9 when an argument started.

Knapp was asked to leave and when outside she kicked a car. The victim asked her what she was doing and Knapp grabbed her by the neck and pushed her back into the car and bit her on her left breast.

The victim was sitting on the couch with two small children, aged 1 and 2, the next day when Knapp returned to pick up some belongings.

Knapp hit the victim in the head with her stiletto shoe, causing it to bleed, then punched her several times.

Judge Phillip Connell said it was a shame that Knapp was in court again at such a young age.

He was also disappointed Knapp attacked the victim at all, let alone while she was sitting with two young children.

On all charges, Knapp was convicted and sentenced to 240 hours’ community work and disqualified from driving for 10 months.

‘‘It will be a great idea if you’re not to come back,’’ Judge Connell told Knapp as she left the dock.
