Two women charged in connection with the brutal killing of Featherston man Glen Jones have been released on bail.

Toni Miller, 22, kept her head bowed and wept throughout her brief appearance at the Masterton District Court this afternoon.

She was released on bail by Judge Bruce Davidson to a suppressed address, with a curfew and strict travel and contact restrictions.

Another woman, 32, was also bailed on similar conditions, and was given name suppression until January 25.

They will reappear in court on February 7.

Earlier today the women's three male co-accused - Kristofer Jones, Hayden Ranson and Matthew McKinney - were remanded in custody until the same date.

All five defendants face charges of aggravated burglary - entering Jones' home with a wooden bat and an axe handle.

Jones was severely beaten in his Featherston home on Friday night and later died of head injuries in Wellington Hospital.

As one of the accused, Ranson, was led away from court this morning a member of the public yelled: "Hang in there brother. You are doing the right thing. Your family loves you."
