A woman charged with murdering her partner, a Mongrel Mob member, has been freed on bail.

In Lower Hutt District Court today Jessica Lee Keefe, 29, was granted bail on condition she live with a relative at an address, which was suppressed, out of the Wellington region.

Keefe, the mother of three children, is charged with murdering Sean Verma, 30, at Petone, on Tuesday.

Judge Peter Butler said Keefe could only return to the Wellington area to see her lawyer or attend court, she was not to consume alcohol, non-prescription drugs, or solvents and not to apply for travel documents.

Keefe has to be at her bail address from 7pm to 7am each day and she is not to contact any police witness.

She is to appear in court again later this month.
