A missing toddler who was abducted by a female relative in Dunedin has been found.

Detective Inspector Kevin Hooper of Dunedin police said Bailey Johnson, 2, was taken without permission by a 47-year-old woman from the Otago Farmers Market in Dunedin about 12.30pm yesterday.

Police were looking for the pair last night.

Hooper said they found Bailey "safe and well" at a residential address in South Dunedin this morning after help from the public.

Skeet was also found at the address, which was not her home.

"She is cooperating with the police and a decision in relation to charges will be made later on today," Hooper said.
