A man accused of murdering a 66-year-old at a South Auckland caravan park has been named as Daniel James Davis.

Davis, 25, was charged with murder after the body of Stephen John Knibb was found at the Ramarama Caravan Park on Ararimu Rd, south of Auckland, in July.

He pleaded not guilty in the High Court at Auckland today and will go to trial.

Police established that Knibb was at the Ramarama Country Inn, a short distance from the caravan park, on July 27.

The circumstances of the death are unknown.

Davis was remanded in custody for a two-week trial on September 2.
