Police have put up $50,000 reward for information on the killing of Paeroa pizza shop owner Jordan Voudouris.
In June last year Voudouris was found dead just 15 metres from Mykonos Pizza and Pasta, his home and business, and police later revealed he had been shot just outside the back door to the premises.
He was a popular and much-loved member of the Paeroa community and friends and family are looking for answers, police said.
Benny Tjan, a friend of Voudouris who took over the takeaway store in September, was full of hope with the news.
''It's big, it's huge money. So hopefully it will help, hopefully it will make people want to help the police,'' he said. The reward will go to anyone who can provide information which leads to the capture of the the perpetrator.
Police have ask anyone with information to call 0800 107 4636.
