A man armed with a gun has robbed people at two popular Auckland tourist spots, police say.

The first robbery happened at the Auckland Domain Wintergardens about 4.30pm and a second group was robbed at the summit of Mt Eden 30 minutes later, police said.

Police said the offender left the Mt Eden summit in a bright blue 2012 Holden Commodore registration GPH784.
