Armed police were called to a Dunedin home last night after shots were fired outside the property.

Police said a man threatened to shoot people he lived with and fired shots outside the Tedder St house around midnight, said Radio NZ.

A 51-year-old man was arrested and several firearms were confiscated.

The man will appear in Dunedin District Court today on firearms-related charges.
