A man accused of bashing his elderly mother and her husband in their Christchurch home might apply for bail at his next court appearance.
Douglas James Archer, 59, appeared in the Christchurch District Court today to face charges of aggravated robbery and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm to his mother, June Geary, and her husband, Arthur Eaton.
The couple, who were attacked in their St Martins home on March 1, were in the court gallery for Archer's brief appearance.
Archer did not look at them.
Archer was further remanded in custody to May 14.
Defence counsel Brian Callaghan said there might be a bail application at a future appearance.
