England's cricketers were stumped on the field, and now they’ve been delivered a hearty blow off it.

Three members of the English cricket team had their golf clubs stolen while they were staying at an Auckland hotel.

Police say a man entered an insecure storage room at the Pullman Hotel at the Waterloo Quadrant on Sunday.

Surveillance footage from the hotel shows a Caucasian man wearing a grey polo-type shirt carrying a bag over his shoulder in the early hours of the morning.

The cricketers only realised last night the clubs were missing as they were packing to return to England.

Among the items stolen are a Taylor Made golf bag, Ping putter, Ping three wood, Taylor Made R11 driver, a set of Taylor Made R11 irons, a set of Mizuno irons and a black Adidas rain jacket.

Police are urging second-hand dealers to contact police if any of the items are offered for sale.

Anyone who has information on who the man may be or where the clubs can be found are urged to contact the Auckland City Police Tactical Crime Unit on 09 302 6656 or to contact Crimestoppers anonymously 0800 555 111.
