Ten men arrested after street fight

Ten men - aged from 16 to 28 - were arrested and charged with unlawful assembly.

A fight in a suburban Taupo street prompted 10 arrests.

Reports of a big group of men fighting in Rawhiti Street reached police about 4pm on Monday.

When officers arrived, they spoke to several of the men involved, a statement from the Tauhara Paetiki Neighbourhood Policing Team said.

Ten men - aged from 16 to 28 - were arrested and charged with unlawful assembly.

They will appear in the Taupo District Court later this week.

Police thanked the community for the help, and asked anyone who saw the fight to Sergeant Shane McNally at the Taupo Police Station.
