A 22-year-old man will appear in the Manukau District Court this morning after a pregnant woman was stabbed in a domestic incident early today.

The attack happened around 1am near Kerri Anne Place in Manukau.

Senior Sergeant Emiel Logan said the man had been questioned by police and was likely to face assault charges.

The woman, also 22, was being treated at Middlemore Hospital for a stab wound in her back. Hospital staff said she was out of the emergency department and in a stable condition.
