Bomb threat at Hawke's Bay prison turns out to be hoax

Hawke's Bay Regional Prison was placed into lockdown on Wednesday morning following a bomb scare.

Hawke's Bay Regional Prison is no longer in lockdown following a bomb scare on Wednesday morning. 

Police were called to the prison at 9.30am following a threatening call about an "item of concern", police said. 

The prison was placed into lockdown as emergency services scoured the site. 

Just after 1.30pm Corrections confirmed no item was found on the site and the prison was no longer in lockdown.
