A man has been arrested following a stand off with armed police at a property in Bell Block's industrial area tonight.

Police used road spikes to block off access to Corbett Rd from State Highway 3 and De Havilland Dr at just after 5.30pm.

It is believed police, including members of the armed offenders squad, then surrounded a property within the cordon on Cygnet Rd.

At around 7pm police warned people the suspect had left the property on foot. He was arrested shortly after.

It is not yet known what caused the standoff or if the man was armed when arrested.
