A woman who had a baby with a 13-year-old boy has pleaded guilty to sex charges laid after their relationship was discovered.

Cecelia Rona Hale, 32, admitted two charges of sexual connection with a young person aged 13 between July 1, 2012, and July 4, 2012 in the Manukau District Court today.

The South Auckland woman also pleaded guilty to supplying a person under 18 with cannabis.

Hale has been remanded in custody until sentencing in September.

Previous media reports said Hale was 36 and the boy was 11 at the time of the offending, however, court documents put their ages at 32 and 13.

It was understood Hale and the boy had sex several times before she became pregnant.

The boy was understood to have told the principal of his school, who alerted police and CYF.

Anyone found guilty of sexual connection with a child under the age of 16 faces a maximum of 10 years in prison.
