Staff at a liquor shop in South Auckland had to be taken to hospital following an armed hold-up last night.

Two men entered a bottle shop on Princess Street in Takanini around 9pm carrying guns.

Emergency services were called to the scene and ambulance staff treated two workers for head wounds.

Both were taken to Middlemore Hospital for treatment.
