Police are hunting two men who allegedly seriously assaulted a liquor store employees in Auckland.

The men are accused of robbing the Takanini Liquor Bargain about 8.45pm last Thursday.

Police say one of the men had a firearm and threatened to shoot one of the employees.

The men assaulted two employees, police say, leaving one with a broken jaw.

The other employee was knocked unconscious and suffered injuries to his eye.

Police said the men fled in a black four-door Mazda Familia.
