A Masterton man who has been caught drink-driving for the tenth time is still licensed to drive.
Sergeant Mike Sutton said the man was known to police as a repeat drink-driving offender.
"It's the tenth time he's been caught drink-driving. He is one of our most high-risk, recidivist drink drivers."
Despite this, the man is currently licensed to drive, Sutton said. The last time he was convicted for drink driving was 2010.
He was stopped at 2.30pm yesterday in Johnstone St, Masterton and failed a breath test. His reading was 593 micrograms per litre of breath, while the legal maximum is 400.
The man will appear in court in September on a drink-driving charge.
