Marlborough teenagers charged with child neglect
Two teenagers have been charged with neglecting their child.
Police claim the couple, aged 17 and 19, failed to seek medical treatment for their child on March 13.
The charge sheet said it was "a major departure from the standard of care to be expected of a reasonable person".
They appeared at the Blenheim District Court on Wednesday.

Judge Barbara Morris banned them from contacting their children, or any child under the age of 14 without the permission of Oranga Tamariki, the Ministry for Vulnerable Children.
That included visits, phone calls, text messages, emails, Facebook and asking other people to contact children for them, Judge Morris said.
If the teenagers breached those conditions, they could be taken into custody, she said.
The couple was granted interim name suppression to protect the identity of the child.
They did not enter a plea and were remanded on bail to May 8 with a condition to reside at a Christchurch address.
